(Alexandria, MN) -- Wednesday's Cardinal Sports Report highlights winning efforts yesterday by the Alexandria Cardinal Volleyball, Girls' Tennis, and Girls' Soccer teams.

Alexandria's Volleyball players celebrated a Homecoming win last night, downing Fergus Falls in a three-set match at Alexandria Area High School. The Cards prevailed by scores of 25-17, 25-10, and 25-20. Six different players recorded at least a pair of kill shots for Alexandria, including junior Lexi Cole and sophomore Lily Thul. The final kill for Thul clinched the match for the Cardinals. Senior setter Erika Roderick played in her final Homecoming match at Pohlig Court, superbly guiding the offense with more than two dozen assists. She was honored as the Quality Toyota/Quality Cardinal Athlete of the Match Tuesday evening. Erika Roderick was pleased with the team performance, and shared some reaction on KXRA Radio last night when visiting with D-Mac and his broadcast partner, Kelly Mesker.

The victory raised Alexandria's overall record to 8-9, with a 5-2 mark in the Central Lakes Conference. Fergus Falls suffered a fifth straight defeat in the league after starting the conference slate with three consecutive wins. The Otters are at 4-10 overall.
