Full House for Section 6A Girls' Swimming

(Alexandria, MN) -- Friday's edition of the Cardinal Sports Report includes information about the second day of the 2019 Section 6A Swimming and Diving Championships, slated for Saturday at Discovery Middle School in Alexandria. 

The preliminaries in the Section 6A Girls' Swimming and Diving Championships took place Thursday evening in the pool at Alexandria's Discovery Middle School. Diving preliminaries, along with the finals in both diving and swimming, are set to be held tomorrow (Saturday). Cardinals' Coach Crysta Krause shares information with KXRA Sports Director Dave McClurg in the audio player below. The two-minute segment highlights the Saturday schedule, and also includes Coach Krause's thoughts on Alexandria's prospects for advancing some kids onto the Class A State Championship Meet next weekend in Minneapolis.

Heading into the Section 6A Championships, the Cardinals qualified a total of 22 athletes to compete this weekend. Divers and swimmers that advance out of Section 6A will compete November 14th through the 16th in the Class A State Meet, at the Jean Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
