Cards close out Spuds in Volleyball

Cardinal Volleyball team extends win streak (post-match player reaction included): The Cardinals now possess an 11-match win streak following a four-set home win Tuesday night against the Moorhead Spuds. Alexandria won the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-23. Moorhead won the third set by four points before the Cardinals bounced back to prevail in the final set by eight.

Section 8AA Girls' Soccer and Boys' Soccer pairings noted: The quarterfinals in Section 8AA Girls' Soccer will be held today (Wednesday), with the quarters in Section 8AA Boys' Soccer slated for Thursday. KXRA will be at Viking Bank Field on the Alexandria Area High School campus for broadcasts the next two nights.

KXRA's play-by-play schedule for the coming days will be quite full with Alexandria Cardinal Girls' Soccer and Boys' Soccer broadcasts today and tomorrow, respectively. The matches in the Section 8AA Soccer Tournament Wednesday and Thursday will be at the Alexandria Area High School Stadium. D-Mac will be joined by Jeff James for the soccer coverage. ROCORI faces Alexandria in the Girls' Soccer Section 8AA Tournament today. Tomorrow, the Cardinals will host the East Grand Forks Green Wave in Section 8AA Boys' Soccer. Friday, D-Mac and Tim Zupfer will describe the Cardinal Football game at Elk River. All of the events will start at or shortly after 7 PM.

Programming note for later in October: D-Mac will be taking a fall break October 21st through the 26th. Part of this time overlaps with the MEA weekend, when classes are not being held October 21st and 22nd. While D-Mac is away from the microphone, the daily Cardinal Sports Reports on KXRA -- along with the Saturday morning Quality Toyota/Quality Cardinal Athlete Profile interview -- will be paused. Regular Cardinal Sports Report programs will air weekdays up through and including Wednesday, October 20th, with a schedule resumption the following Wednesday (October 27th).        

During the 2021-22 school year, the Cardinal Sports Report programs air on KXRA (1490 AM, 100.3 FM, and 105.7 FM) weekdays at approximately the following times:
