(undated) -- The Quality Toyota/Alexandria Cardinal "Athlete of the Week" Saturday segments for the 2018-19 school year include recent recognition of Hannah Boraas and Ciara O'Connor from the Alexandria Cardinal Girls' Golf team.

Junior Ciara O'Connor and eighth grader Hannah Boraas from the Alexandria Cardinal Girls' Golf team were honored as Quality Toyota/Cardinal "Athletes of the Week" for the period ending June 7th, 2019. They were nominated for Cardinal "Athlete of the Week" honors by Coach Tim Zupfer.

Both Hannah and Ciara visited with KXRA Sports Director Dave McClurg in the days following the Cardinals' performance in the Section 8AAA Championship Meet. Alexandria narrowly missed out on a Section 8AAA title, as a tiebreaker snapped the identical team scores of 661 between the Cardinals and the Brainerd Warriors. They talk about their individual performances at the Section meet (Hannah earned Section 8AAA medalist, while Ciara's two-day combined score also earned her a State Tournament trip). They share their thoughts about not having four of their teammates competing at State, due to being edged by Brainerd in the tiebreaker for the Section 8AAA Championship.

Ciara and Hannah are both heading back to State in 2019. They converse with D-Mac about what they would like to accomplish during their second State appearance. Hannah Boraas will golf with a trio of golfers from Anoka, Blaine, and Elk River in her foursome during the first 18 holes as the State Class AAA Meet on Tuesday, while Ciara is in a foursome that features players from Burnsville, Minnetonka, and Rochester John Marshall High Schools.

The Quality Toyota/Cardinal "Athlete of the Week" one-on-one segments for the spring season will continue until mid to late June. The conversations typically air between 9:45 and 10 a.m. Saturdays following the KXRA "Home Grown" radio program, which is hosted by Linda Kellerman.

The Cardinal "Athlete of the Week" radio feature is sponsored during the 2018-19 school year on 1490 AM/100.3 FM, KXRA by Quality Toyota of Fergus Falls
