(Alexandria, MN) -- Thursday's edition of the Cardinal Sports Report includes comments from a pair of football players, as they continue preparing for Friday night's Homecoming game.
Senior Jameson Molesworth and sophomore Kristen Hoskins were both honored following the Week 4 win at Willmar as the Quality Toyota/Quality Cardinal Players of the Game. Hoskins was chosen as Player of the Game on offense, after a five reception performance that included a touchdown. He indicates that his Cardinals have played well in stretches of games this season, but are continuing to strive for that complete game performance.
In the 43-13 victory at Willmar, Molesworth intercepted a pass. That was one of four turnovers that Alexandria forced against the host Cardinals last Friday. He knows that Brainerd is better than a 1-3 record would indicate, and feels that the team really is determined to snap its four-game losing streak to the Warriors.
The first of four successive Alexandria losses to Brainerd occurred during the Cardinals' 2017 Homecoming game. Since then, the Warriors claimed a regular season home win against Alexandria last September, plus has eliminated the Cards from the playoffs in both 2017 and 2018. KXRA will broadcast the Cardinal Football Homecoming game tomorrow night (Friday), with kickoff set for 7:00.
