(Alexandria, MN) -- Monday's Cardinal Sports Report shares details and sounds of Friday's Alexandria win at Willmar, in prep football.

At Willmar's Hodapp Field on Friday, the Willmar Cardinals hosted Alexandria for Homecoming. The visiting Cardinals built an insurmountable first half lead in securing a 43-13 victory, raising Alexandria's record to 3-1. The visitors accumulated more than 350 yards in the first half, scoring on six of the first eight possessions. Junior running back Nolan Morical found the end zone three times in the game. His first score of the contest on Friday is described below by KXRA Sports Director Dave McClurg and his broadcast partner, Bob Cunniff.

The visitors put the game out of reach with a 29-point second quarter, which included three touchdown passes from senior quarterback Matthew Carlsen. One of those tosses helped to put Alexandria up by five scores in the opening half. Catch the call from D-Mac and Bob below.

Coach Mike Empting and his staff had the luxury of resting many of the top performers in the second half, with Alexandria leading by more than 40 at the break. Willmar scored single touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters, with one converted extra point to trim the 43-point lead at intermission to a win by 30 points.
