(Alexandria, MN) -- A talented field of golfers is continuing play into the weekend for the 98th Annual Resorters at the Alexandria Golf Club.

A total of nine divisions have drawn golfers from a wide range of communities around Minnesota and other locations. Three Alexandria golfers are seeking to repeat with top honors. Jodi Sullivan is the defending champion in the Executive Women's Division. Randy Johnson looks to repeat in the Masters Division, after capturing his first-ever Resorters title last August. Chris Haugen is the two-time defending champ in the Senior Men's Division.

Brian Choe from Coppell, Texas is back in 2019 to defend his title in the Men's Division. Thomas Lehman is seeded fourth in that field. If the bracket holds over the next two rounds, Lehman and Choe could match up in Saturday morning's semifinal round. Thomas' father, Alexandria native and professional golfer Tom Lehman is caddying for his son during this year's Resorters.

Red Wing's Stephanie Herzog is back to defend her title in the Women's Division, while Maple Grove's Troy Johnson will look to go back-to-back in the Executive Men's Division.

New champions will be crowned in the Junior 10-12 and Junior 13-15 Divisions this year. Two-time Junior 13-15 title holder Davis Johnson is now competing in the Men's Division, while last year's Junior 10-12 winner, Charlie Moen, is into Friday's semifinal round of the Junior 13-15 Division. He will match up against that field's top seed, Hannah Boraas, a two-time State Tournament golfer for the Alexandria Cardinals.

Four distinguished golfers make up the field for the Grand Masters Division, including a pair of Alexandria residents: Tom Eidsvold and the "Voice of the Cardinals" on KXRA Radio for nearly 50 years, Dave Harris. They are joined in the field by Gary Obele of Becker and Clayton Pike of Billings, Montana. The Grand Masters will feature round robin play.

Two of the divisions will have both semifinal and championship round match play on Saturday: the Men's and Executive Men's Divisions, which hold round-of-16 matches in the championship flight Thursday and quarterfinals the following day. Thursday's schedule includes quarterfinal round play in the Masters, Women's, and Senior Men's Divisions. Six of the divisions will then advance to semifinal round matches on Friday at the Alexandria Golf Club.

In the coming days, those interested in tracking the progress during the 98th Annual Resorters are welcome to stop by the Alexandria Golf Club.
