(Ann Arbor, MI) There were a couple of great races recorded in Michigan Saturday for Alexandria alumni, Megan and Bethany Hasz.  The University of Minnesota long distance runners both recorded first place finishes in Ann Arbor at the 2019 Power Five Invitational.  Megan ran the 3K in 9:31.63 taking 1st. Bethany ran the mile in 4:42.79, also taking 1st.  Bethany edged out University of Indiana senior Katherine Receveur by more than five seconds (4:47.96).  Megan's 3000 meter race was a bit closer as she was just under four seconds ahead of 2nd place University of Michigan sophomore Kathryn House (9:35.51).

Megan and Bethany recorded two of the three titles for the University of Minnesota women's team.  The U of M men also recorded three victories.

Bethany's time of 4:42.79 was less than a second off her career-best time, in her first mile race of the season.  Bethany and Megan are both red-shirt sophomores for the U of M track program.  The top-notch runners only have one year of eligibility left in the cross country program.
