(Alexandria, MN) A team that apparently has an air for the dramatic left town today in royal fashion today.  It was just last weekend that the Alexandria Junior Legion Black team returned from an opening round loss to win six straight games and championship.  After that loss to Mankato West by a score of 5-2, Alexandria beat Hutchinson 11-0, Marshall 5-4, Mankato East 11-5, Alexandria Red 7-6, and then Mankato West 7-1 and 10-6.

Today (Thursday) they were escorted out of town from Knute Nelson ball park by police and fire vehicles.  Family and fans cheered them on as they headed off to the Interstate on their way to the state tournament in Bloomington.  The Alexandria Junior Legion Black team opens that tournament tonight at 6:00pm against the host team, Bloomington.
