(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota senators aren't allowed to eat or drink anything on the Senate floor, but that could change.
The Senate is going to consider a proposal that would change the rule to allow senators to drink water. Such a proposal has been shot down in the past. Those who are against changing the rule argue that water could damage the antique desks on the floor. Senator Torrey Westrom says, quote, "We're not three-year-olds who need sippy cups, we're adults who can responsibly have a bottle of water with a screw cap that seals it."
