(Hastings, MN) -- A Dakota County judge has found a 40-year-old man accused of killing his grandmother not competent to stand trial.

Timothy Robert Steele will return to court at a future date for a review of his status. He told investigators he heard voices in his head telling him to kill the 84-year-old victim. Steele admitted using a hammer to hit her seven or eight times in the head. The woman's body was found in her Farmington home in October 2016.
