(Grand Marais, MN) -- A police dog is credited with finding a suicidal man in Cook County last week.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a possible suicidal person call at the Hungry Hippie Hostel near Grand Marais. The 21-year-old man was eventually located on a county road with a knife and self-inflicted injuries to his left forearm. The man told deputies he heard Officer Eddy barking and human voices approaching him as he fled the woods. Deputies believe the man was apprehended as quickly as he was because Officer Eddy flushed him out.
