The Douglas County Mobile Food Drop is gearing up for a new year in the lakes area with their monthly food distribution events coordinated by United Way of Douglas & Pope Counties. This is an opportunity for residents to register for an assortment of food, given out on-site free of charge.

The Douglas County Mobile Food Drop takes place once a month at New Life Christian Church, 1910 County Road 82 SE, Alexandria, MN. Distribution of food begins at 11 AM but registration begins at 9 AM. At registration you receive a number that coordinates with your spot in line. There are no income guidelines or requirements. Anyone who lives in Douglas County is able to attend.

Through the 2017/2018 Mobile Food Drops alone, this program has served 4,337 individuals with roughly 100 pounds of food per household per food drop.

The Food Drop is supported by donations from businesses, organizations and individual community members. You can help by making a donation or volunteering at a food drop. Each month, 50 volunteers are needed to work at
