The Runestone Electric Association (REA) Board of Directors recently announced the appointment of Brad Burklund, Starbuck, to the REA Board to fill a vacancy created when District 7 Director Steve Pederson passed away in May.
“We did not want District 7 to go unrepresented for an extended period of time,” explains REA Board President Barbara Johnson. “After advertising for candidates to apply for the open director seat, the board conducted interviews, choosing Brad Burklund as the candidate to serve in the director position.” Burklund will serve on the board until REA’s next annual meeting in the spring of 2020, at which time the District 7 seat will be up for election.
“While we are saddened by the loss of Steve and miss his contributions to the board, we are delighted to have Brad join us. With his background in teaching agriculture and farm management plus his banking experience, we feel he will do an excellent job representing the people of District 7. We welcome Brad to the board," Johnson said.
REA’s District 7 includes parts of Donnelly, Rendsville, Land, Swan Lake, Nora, Ben Wade, Reno, Framnas, New Prairie, White Bear Lake, Minnewaska, Glenwood, Hodges, Walden, Blue Mounds, Barsness, and Chippewa Falls Townships in Pope, Grant and Stevens County.
