(Melrose, MN) An Alexandria woman was injured in a crash between Sauk Centre and Melrose early Saturday morning. A Grand Prix, driven by 35 year old Sonja Ann Tykwinski of Alexandria, was westbound on Interstate 94 near Highway 4 when it hit the guardrail on the overpass and came to rest in the lane of traffic. Tykwinski was taken to CentraCare in Sauk Centre with non-life threatening injuries.
(Alexandria, MN) Saturday afternoon around 4:30pm another one-vehicle crash took place on I-94, this time near Alexandria. A Chevy Tahoe, driven by 23 year old Johanna Rose Boogaard of Shelly, MN, was traveling eastbound on interstate 94 when it entered the median and then over-corrected and began to roll. The Tahoe rolled multiple times across the main line and then entered the right ditch coming to rest on the driver's side. The rollover took place in Hudson Township near County Road 17, just east of Alexandria. Boogaard and an infant boy passenger in the were taken to Alomere Health in Alexandria with non-life threatening injuries. A 29 year old male passenger in the Tahoe was not injured.
