(Alexandria, MN) On Sunday June 21st, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle accident with a man pinned on County Road 61 in Ida Township.
Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to investigate the accident around 4:40pm. Upon arrival it was determined the driver and his 13 year old passenger were traveling east on CR 61 and entered the S curves and the driver lost control and entered the ditch. The passenger was thrown clear of the motorcycle, but the driver was pinned underneath it. The driver, 38 year old Lance Shoultz of Alexandria, was treated for his injuries and transported by Life Link III from the scene to St. Cloud Hospital. Shoultz was treated for a leg injury and a concussion. The passenger was transported to Alomere Hospital by private party with minor injuries. Authorities say speed was a factor in the accident. Both the driver and passenger were wearing helmets.
