(Long Prairie, MN) The Todd County Sheriff's Department is reporting that two people were found dead Wednesday.  The sheriff's office had received a 911 call of a deceased male at a rural Long Prairie residence around 4:32pm on August 21st.  The caller said they had gone to check on a friend who had not returned phone calls or texts since Tuesday.

Todd County deputies arrived on scene and upon checking the residence, found two adults dead under suspicious circumstances.

The scene is currently being processed by the Minnesota BCA.  

Multiple sources have indicated the victims to be retired teacher and former NFL player Barry Bennett and his wife Carol.  Bennett played 11 seasons in the NFL, finishing out his career in 1988 with one game as a Minnesota Viking.

In the course of the investigation Todd County Sheriff Steve Och says investigators have identified a suspect as 22 year old Dylan John Bennett.  Bennett is believed to be driving a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe, blue in color, bearing the Minnesota license plate number BCK 487.  Based on information gathered in the investigation authorities have determined that there is no threat to public safety at this time.

The Todd County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Minnesota BCA and the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force.
