Vehicle Crashes into Noonan's Pond

A truck crashed into Noonan's Pond (Lake Phillip) on Saturday morning.  Luckily the driver was not injured.

(Alexandria, MN)  Alexandria Police responded to a report of a vehicle going through the ice on the pond at Noonan's Park Saturday morning.  The vehicle, a white pick-up truck, appears to have been heading northbound on Nokomis Street.  The responding officer says it appears the truck left the roadway, hit a mailbox, travelled through a yard before crossing 10th Avenue East and crashed into the southeast edge of the pond near the little walking bridge.   According to police, the driver, a 74 year old Alexandria man, does not recall the incident.  The man did not require additional medical care.  No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.  The crash took place around 10:26a.m. Saturday morning.
