(Osakis, MN) Thursday afternoon, just after two o’clock, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle crash located east of the intersection of County Road 3 and County Road 73 near Osakis.
Information indicated only one vehicle was involved, but two people were injured. Authorities have now learned that one has died.
It appears from the initial investigation that a full-size pickup was eastbound on Co Rd 73 when it left the roadway. The vehicle struck an embankment and overturned coming to rest on its side.
The female passenger, 80 year old Cora Glanman was helped out of the vehicle by first responders and Deputies who had arrived on scene. She was transported to Alomere Hospital by North Memorial Ambulance and later flown to St. Cloud Hospital by Lifelink III due to her injuries. Her condition is currently unknown.
The driver, 79 year old John Glanman was mechanically extricated from the truck by the Osakis Fire Department. Due to his injuries, he was flown directly from the scene by Lifelink III to St. Cloud. He died as a result of his injuries after arriving at St. Cloud Hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
