(Evansville, MN) Sunday evening at about 7:54PM the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an elderly female with Alzheimers disease was missing from her residence. According to family and neighbors, it was possible that the 79 year old Evansville woman was missing as early as 6:00PM and they had attempted to locate her on their own. An extensive air, water, and ground search was initiated. Douglas County deputies along with a Douglas County K9 conducted a search in conjunction with an air search by a MN State Patrol helicopter. After those efforts did not locate the subject, a physical ground search was conducted by members of the Evansville Fire/First Responders and the Ashby Fire/First Responders. While the ground search was being conducted , deputies were also on Lake Anka and Lake Ina searching the shoreline. The woman was located just after midnight about 1/4 mile east of her home in a heavily wooded area. She did not appear to be injured, but was transported to Alomere Health in Alexandria for precautionary reasons. Agencies involved were the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, MN State Patrol Aviation Unit, Evansville Fire/First Responders, Ashby Fire/First Responders, Ashby Ambulance, North Ambulance, and the Douglas County Sheriff's Posse.
