(Alexandria, MN)

The annual Relay for Life is tonight, and once again the local organizers have selected three cancer survivors as honorees.  One of them is our very own Dennis Anhalt.  Dennis was diagnosed in the Spring of 2018 with a form of carcinoma that was attacking the lymph nodes in his throat.  Dennis has since gone through seven rounds of chemo and radiation and has been proclaimed “CANCER-FREE”. He says early detection is key.

(Dennis talks about his fight with cancer and the importance of this event- AUDIO BELOW)

The other two honorees are Cindy Ziegelman and 12 year old Austin Baune.  Each have an incredible story to tell….and you can hear a bit of thei stories tonight at 6:00pm for the opening ceremonies of the Relay for Life event.  It will be held at the Douglas  County Fairgrounds.  Even if you have not donated or participated up to this point, you’re welcome to join in and support not only those who have won the fight with cancer, but those who are currently going through that battle.  There will also be plenty of people there celebrating lives they’ve lost to the disease.

The Relay event goes ‘til one a.m. and you can find more info on the Douglas County Relay for Life facebook page.
