(Westport, MN) On Thursday morning around 8:00am the Douglas County Law Enforcement Center a 9-1-1 report of a propane truck rollover on Douglas County Road 2 south of Lake Ellen Road SE. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, North Ambulance, Osakis Fire and First Responders and the MN State Patrol responded to the scene.

Personnel arrived on scene and found a liquid propane delivery truck rolled over in the northbound ditch. The driver, 38 year old Michael Thomas Kugel of Osakis, was able to get out of the vehicle after the crash. Personnel found propane and diesel fuel leaking from the vehicle. The truck was uprighted and then towed to Pope County Co-op in Villard to off-load the liquid propane.

Kugel sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Alomere Hospital in Alexandria by North Ambulance.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the MN State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Division.
