(Alexandria, MN) An Alexandria man was injured in a motorcycle crash Tuesday afternoon. On July 7th at 3:17 pm, Douglas County Dispatch received a 911 call for an accident, involving a motorcycle, on County Road 82 SE, near County Road 17 (Gene's Rd). The caller stated the rider, 32 year old Troy Lee Lueth, was down in the roadway. Douglas County Deputies, North Ambulance and a MN State Trooper responded to the scene. When emergency responders arrived, they found Lueth, on the edge of the roadway. A first responder had stopped to assist and was with Troy. Troy had significant but non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Alomere Hospital and later transferred to another hospital for further treatment.
The investigation revealed that a car had stopped to make a left-hand turn. The vehicles behind the car began to stop and Troy was unable to stop in time. He clipped the rear corner of a passenger car then laid the motorcycle down on the roadway. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
