I-94 Closure Near Evansville

Between Exit 90: Douglas County Road 7 and Exit 82: MN 79 (near Evansville). The road was closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles. 

(Evansville, MN) A Montana couple was hospitalized following a rollover crash on I-94 near Evansville Thursday.  The Minnesota State Patrol says 69 year old Robert Swank of Darby, MT was traveling westbound on I-94, just east of the Evansville exit when his van lost control, going from left ditch to right ditch, rolling and coming to rest on its roof.  He was taken to Alomere Health with non-life threatening injuries.  A passenger in the Toyota Sienna was 72 year old Mary Swank was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries.  Both were wearing their seatbelts.  The State Patrol was assisted by Ashby Ambulance, Lifelink, Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Evansville Fire and Rescue.

The State Patrol says another driver was injured in a second crash, while they were working to clean up the first.  A Nissan Altima, driven by 58 year old James Fogarty of Prior Lake, rear-ended a semi-truck that was stopped on the Interstate because of the van rollover.  Fogarty was taken to Alomere health with non-life injuries.
