(Alexandria, MN) The City of Alexandria, along with the Emergency Management Directors of Douglas County, would like to assure the public there is no emergency near the city owned outdoor warning siren on County Road 82 and Lilac Lane which malfunctioned again Wednesday afternoon.
The first malfunction occurred on Monday, January 4th around 3:45 AM. The siren started without being activated. The second malfunction occurred today, January 6th, during the routine, monthly check up. The siren would not disengage.
At this time the siren has been manually shut off with the assistance of ALP Utilities. Repairs will be made on this siren as soon as possible. Again, there is no Emergency warning that is active in the area. We apologize for any inconvenience and disruption this may have caused.
