(Alexandria, MN) Authorities are releasing a few details about a drowning that took place Saturday on Lake Ida. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of a man in the water on Lake Ida around 4:49pm. The man was recovered by neighbors and brought to shore and CPR was started. Emergency responders arrived and continued to administer CPR and life saving measures however all efforts to resuscitate were unsuccessful.
The victim was found approximately 30-40 feet from shore and in 4-8 feet of water. The victim was not wearing a life vest.
This case remains under investigation. All names are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
