(Alexandria, MN) By car Hollywood is more than 1800 miles from Mount Carmel on the shores of Lake Carlos. The one person who connects those two places is an 18 year old singer with a huge future ahead of her. Addison Agen's biggest claim to fame so far was when she finished second during season 13 (2017) of "The Voice". Initially she was selected by Miley Cyrus, eventually getting picked up by Adam Levine. After weeks of winning the hearts (and ears) of viewers across the country, she lost out to Chloe Kohanski in the finals.
Since that enormous boost to her singing career, she has been singing in a number of venues, most notably this past June when she was the opening act for Bob Seger during four of his shows in Michigan.
During a One on One conversation Addison sits down with VOA's Joe Korkowski and talks about getting on the show, getting to Alexandria, and what's new in her life. Joining the conversation is Jonathan Swenson, Summer Program Director for Mount Carmel. He is the person responsible for inviting the singer and her family to the bible camp on the west side of Lake Carlos. (VIDEO BELOW)
A benefit concert for Mount Carmel will be held this Saturday night at the retreat center starting at 7:00pm. Proceeds from the tickets sales go to benefit Mount Carmel. The Agen Family Trio, including Addison, her mother Kristine and brother Korrigan, will be performing. Tickets are $15 for adults, under 18 is $10.
Mount Carmel is located at 800 Mt Carmel Dr NE, Alexandria, MN 56308.
