(St. Paul, MN) The Minnesota Department of Health released their daily report Friday and for the first time in four days, new Douglas County cases were in the double digits.  In the month of October Douglas County saw double digit cases in most of the first 10 days of the month.

This week after seeing daily COVID positive tests of 7, 3, 5 and 4, Friday's report showed an astounding 24 new COVID-19 positive cases.  Douglas County Emergency Management Director Julie Anderson says today's cases are "NOT from the community testing site."

The community saw three days of free testing (Oct. 13, 14 and 15) in which 1,146 people received free tests.  Those results will be coming very soon and may impact future MDH reports.

Neighboring counties that also saw double digit cases in Friday, October 16th's report include Kandiyohi 76, Morrison 58, Otter Tail 27, Todd 31 and Wadena 17.  Stearns County saw triple digit numbers with an astounding 202 new cases.
