Shannon Curfman

Released her first album "Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions" 15 years ago.  Now, the Fargo native is playing guitar for Kid Rock.

The 14th Annual Fargo Winter Blues Festival is coming up Saturday, February 8th At the Doublewood Inn Ballroom in Fargo. It all begins at 4 with the Blue Wailers from Faro taking the stage doing it “Un-Plugged” Style. Maurice John Vaughn from Chicago takes the stage after that, followed by Shawn Holt & The Teardrops. Shawn is the son of the late Magic Slim, who was Scheduled to be the headliner at last year’s winter festival, but was hospitalized just weeks before and passed away at short time later.

The headline act…Fargo’s very own Shannon Curfman! Shannon rose to fame nearly 15 years ago when she released her first album “Loud Guitars, Big Suspicions” on a major record label (Arista Records) at the age of just 14. The album got airplay all across the country and she immediately rose to fame as being one the of best blues acts in the country. She appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “The Late Show with David Letterman”, “The Today Show” and many, many more. She continued to release her music independently afterwards and continues to do so. Even better, about four years ago, she joined Kid Rock’s band as a guitarist and vocalist and remains a member of that band. KX-92's Michael Right spoke with Shannon and we invite you to check out the interview in the Related Audio Clip.

Once again, as in years past, Michael has the honor of being the stage announcer for the Fargo Winter Blues Festival. Tickets are 25 bucks in advance and you can charge them by phone at 1-866-55-BLUES. Tickets for also available at the door for a few bucks more. Check out their website
