(Alexandria MN) -- On January 1, 1917 The Red River Valley Synod of Augustana Lutheran Church opened Bethany Home to serve the “needy”.

From the beginning, compassionate care has been woven into the fibers of Bethany Home. This exceptional care has been provided for 100 years meeting the ever changing needs and trends in health care. Each generation has different expectations regarding senior care.

Ecumen Bethany Community has proven the ability to stay ahead of these trends adding service areas to help seniors stay in their homes such as: Short-term Rehab, Adult Day Services and Home Care.

The community is invited to a Birthday Party on Tuesday, January 31, at 2:00 in the Ecumen Bethany Community Chapel at 1020 Lark Street. The free Birthday Party will include refreshments, music and historical presentation.

A Birthday celebration will follow in May with a variety of community events.
