New Life Christian Church is hosting Night to Shine on Friday, February 8thNight to Shine is a prom for people with special needs age 14 and over.  

There are two shopping days where guests can select their outfit at New Life Christian Church.  Just this past weekend on February 1st and February 2nd prom attendees were able to choose from clothes that had been collected.  Organizers recommended Mother of the Bride type dresses, dressy flat shoes and sparkly jewelry or suits, sport coats and slacks, dress shirts and ties that are no longer are being worn.  The items were shopped through at New Life Christian Church, 1910 County Road 82 SE, Alexandria.

Night to Shine is still seeking volunteers to be a “buddy” for the special guests.  “Buddy’s” spend the evening with a guest, help them feel comfortable, eat with them, and does activities with them.  Visit www.your-newlife.com and click Night to Shine, then Volunteer to register.

Night to Shine volunteers have been busy preparing for this event creating decorations, selecting refreshments, securing donations, registering guests and recruiting an army of volunteers, all to make the evening unforgettable.
