The Church of St. Mary in Alexandria is beginning its faith formation year by bringing in Christian speaker Nic Davidson. Nic’s energy for the gospel, and his sense of humor make him a popular and engaging speaker. The topic for the night will center around the Beatitudes and how they are applicable to today’s world. The talk is the first in the parish’s series of “Inspired to Be” nights. Nic is a convert to Catholicism and has passionately studied Christianity and the faith.

An interesting note about Nic is that he and his wife Jacelyn have adopted three siblings from the Caribbean and they recently had a baby of their own after years of infertility. Nic says the island his children come from was devastated by Hurricane Maria.

Since 2008, Nic has taught several 14-week courses and has given over 100 TOB talks in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Working with the Diocese of Duluth, Minn. Nic helped create the Theology of the Body Immersion for Teens (TOBIT), a four-day camp that takes teens through TOB. Nic also hosted a weekly radio broadcast on TOB when living on the island of Dominica in the West Indies.

Wednesday night’s talk (Sept. 27) is open to the public and free of charge. It begins at 6:30pm at the Church of St. Mary at 420 Irving St, Alexandria, MN 56308.
