Alexandria Public Schools will host kindergarten registration events for parents with a child ready to attend kindergarten in the fall. To be eligible to enter kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year, a child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2020. Alexandria Public Schools offers an outstanding all-day, every day kindergarten program. Our primary goal is to inspire in children a love of learning. Providing children with experiences that help them become confident, successful learners and achieve personal growth is at the heart of the school district’s mission.

Each elementary school will offer a chance for parents to learn more about the kindergarten experience through a short presentation and video, to meet the school principal and receive their child’s kindergarten registration packet. Kindergarten eligible children do not need to attend this first meeting; they will be invited to other planned activities prior to the start of school.
