A team-up between the Pike & Pint Grill and the Alexandria Area High School Marketing students is underway this February!
Groupings of classmates are currently competing in the Battle of the Burgers - combining culinary & marketing knowledge to create new recipes for mouthwatering burger options, which are being served up at Pike & Pint until Sunday, February 23. Come test em out for yourself!
During the weeks leading up to February 9th, Alexandria students in the class Entertainment and Sports Marketing had the opportunity to work with the owner of Pike & Pint Grill to create and market new burger ideas for their menu. The project began with Kent Kopp, owner of Pike & Pint Grill coming in to teach the students how to successfully market their burgers to the community. After learning about Pike & Pint, students created many of their own burger ideas. The top three which will be on the menu from Feb. 9th to Feb. 23rd are the Steakhouse burger, Caesar burger, and Ragin’ mac attack burger. At the end of the two weeks, the burger that sells the most will stay on the menu forever.
To effectively market their burgers, students were split into five different groups including Print Media, Social Media, Press Release, Radio Ad, and Video Production.
$1 of every burger sold will be donated towards the DECA group at AAHS, and the winning burger (determined by how many of each creation are sold) will be featured as a permanent installment on the Pike & Pint menu.

The Steakhouse Burger features grilled ground sirloin, topped with bacon, caramelized onions and a blue cheese compound butter - served with leaf lettuce on a gourmet bun. The students who created this one are Lilly Thul and Ava Simonson.
The Caesar Burger features a grilled, oregano-marinated turkey burger - topped with a tossed Caesar salad, crumbled croutons & Parmesan cheese, served on a Parmesan-toasted brioche bun. The students who came up with this are Bailey Saar and Rylee Richards.
The Ragin' Mac Attack Burger features grilled fresh ground chuck, topped with a buffalo-BBQ sauce, American cheese, bacon & house-made mac 'n' cheese - served on a toasted pretzel bun. The students who came up with this burger are Henry Ramstorft, Nick Peterson, and Braeden Sladek.
