(Alexandria, MN – June 22, 2020) It seems remarkable that only a few short months ago we took the initial steps to deal with COVID-19. Since then, the pandemic has dramatically altered our lives in ways we will no doubt always remember. Although there is still a lot that we don’t know about what the future will bring, this much is certain: Alexandria Technical & Community College will be open in the fall and ready to welcome students.
As for fall semester, our faculty and staff are hard at work developing plans based on the latest guidance. We don’t know the course the pandemic will take, so we are planning on a mix of on-campus, in-person delivery mixed with remote course delivery enhanced by using poly-synchronous technologies, appropriate for the nature of the programs we offer and in alignment with the needs of our students. Our top priorities will be protecting the health and safety of our faculty, our staff, and our students, and enabling our students to continue their progress towards their educational goals.
We are also preparing to adapt as necessary to sudden changes -- either to more restrictive or less restrictive modes as conditions change. Thanks to the incredible work of our faculty, our staff, and our students, we have tremendous flexibility to quickly pivot.
As part of our preparation for fall, we are actively reaching out to our current students as well as our prospective students to ensure they have the latest information on our plans, encourage them to register for fall semester soon, and help them prepare to continue their educational journey.
Introducing Saturday Support:
ATCC is offering Saturday options for students to be on campus for tours, visits with our admissions representatives, meet with advising or registrar and complete any testing they may need. These would be in addition to our normal office hours Monday through Friday.
• Saturday, July 18, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
• Saturday, August 1, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Although fall semester may seem far away, we can be sure that Alexandria Technical & Community College, stands ready to continue serving our students and help them stay on track towards their educational goals. Many programs still have availability for fall, so it’s not too late for new students to apply and start building their futures close to home.
