(Alexandria, MN) "It's just plain sillyness" that's how Rachel Barduson, who plays the Reverend Mother, describes the mad-capped show “NUNCRACKERS- the nunsense Christmas musical”. It opens at the Andria Theatre this Friday night and runs through February 28th.
It was supposed to be last December's Christmas show for the Andria Theatre, but restrictions late last year made that not possible. Director, Ann Hermes, says the cast was so determined to be able to perform the show, even if it meant waiting into the Spring or Summer. Listen to Ann during her interview on KXRA's Openline with Joe & Patty. (AUDIO BELOW):
Rachel Barduson talks about how the show must go on (AUDIO BELOW):
The Nunsense Christmas Musical Nuncrackers is presented as the first TV special taped in the Cable Access Studio built by Reverend Mother in the convent basement. It stars the nuns you love, plus Father Virgil and four of Mount Saint Helen's most talented students. Featuring all new songs, including "Twelve Days Prior to Christmas," "Santa Ain't Comin' to Our House," "We Three Kings of Orient Are Us" and "It's Better to Give than to Receive," this show is filled with wacky Nunsense humor, some of your favorite carols, and a "Secret Santa" sequence featuring audience participation. Certain to tickle your funny bone and likely to tug at your heartstrings, Nuncrackers is the perfect way to make your holiday season merry and bright; even if it's February!
The show features Rachel Barduson as Sister Mary Regina (Reverend Mother), Ruth Blom (Sister Mary Hubert), Monica Peterson (Sister Robert Anne), Carrie Smoley (Sister Mary Paul aka Amnesia), Cathy Snyder (Sister Mary Leo), David Christman (Father Virgil Manly Trott), Olivia Reilly (Jana Kelly), Mia Meier (Louise Mayfield), Kylee Dummer (Briana Wilson) and Emily Staples (Maria Montini)
