(Alexandria, MN) A long-time Douglas County deputy sheriff is renewing – in retirement – a musical passion he shared with local entertainer, Jennifer Maloney, for many years.
Jennifer has worked out a new program she calls “Happy Days Are Here Again” . . . a two-hour celebration “of the beginning of a new beginning” as the Covid-19 pandemic wanes.
“During the process of developing the program,” said Jennifer, “I kept remembering that there were so many great duets that Brad and I did together in the past, wouldn’t it be great if he would consider getting back together and being a big part of it all.”
She asked him, he agreed, and the two will be performing together again when the show will be presented Sunday, June 13, at a specially designed seating arrangement at the Alexandria Elks Club.
Known as “The Road Show,” the popular duo performed in many venues throughout the area. They created a wide following during those years and it would appear they remembered. The show was sold out within days and as a result the Elks has scheduled a second performance on Sunday, June 27.
Brad’s increasing responsibilities in the sheriff’s department forced him to leave his off-duty musical career with Jennifer. He served 30 years with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department and retired as Chief Deputy three years ago. Coincidentally, his wife, Tina, more recently retired as a sergeant after serving 20 years with the Alexandria Police Department. A combined half-century law enforcement careers in the Lake family.
Tickets for the newly arranged 2nd “Happy Days” show are now available at the Elks Club. The June 27th performance starts at 7 p.m.
