Two new shows are on their way to the Lakes Area Theatre Friday, June 14: "Soap Rings Eternal" & " Buford and Nellie."

On stage: Keri Mohror, Quincy Roers, Al Alvig, Mirium Thornquist, Hilllary Ninman.  Bob Piotrowski on Music.  The shows are directed by Cathy Synder.

Soap Rings Eternal

Charlene, a romantic, young bank teller escapes her hum-drum life by living vicariously through the characters of her favorite soap opera. When the show's dashing leading man accuses her of financial wrongdoing, Charlene has to find a way to clear her name - and perhaps find romance and danger along the way.

A native of Osakis, Minnesota, Keri Mohror works as a marketing writer for Tastefully Simple, Inc. in Alexandria. A graduate (BA/MA English) of Bemidji State University, she has written three children's books and ghost-written a book titled, Losing Cassie, Finding Peace. Though she has performed on stage at Lakes Area Radio Theatre numerous times, this is her first foray into radio script writing.

Buford and Nellie

After many season of working on the farm, Buford & Nellie need a much deserved vacation - a real vacation - a cruise.  But will the vacation give them the rest & relaxation they need?

Bob Sievers has lived in Alexandria since he retired from the advertising world in 1996.  A long time fan of radio theater, Bob was introduced to LART by Don Shelby in 2012.  He wrote his first radio play in 2013 at the age of 79.  "Buford and Nellie" is his 30th.
