(Alexandria, MN)  Wow.  34 years to the very day today, January 20th, 1983 Def Leppard FINALLY got the recognition they deserved with the release of their album, Pyromania.  Remember where you were when you first heard producer Mutt Lange do the "German Gibberish" count-in of the lead track, "Rock Of Ages" followed by a little cowbell from drummer Rick Allen, a slight snicker of a giggle from singer Joe Elliot and then got ready to enjoy the ride?  I was working the 7pm to Midnight shift at Q106 in the Jackson/Lansing market in my home state of Michigan and my Program Director brought in this great new track for me to play on the air.  We were the first in the market to do so.  As soon as I heard the opening guitar licks on the track, I reached over to the Volume knob on the control board in the studio and cranked that S.O.B loud & proud!  From that day forward, those boys from Britain had a brand new fan and a BIG fan at that. And I never would have dreamed that some 30 years later I would have close to a dozen on-air interviews with various members of the band.

On Friday, April 21st, Def Leppard will make their fourth Twin Cities are appearance in less than two years.  They will headline a GREAT night of hard-hittin', Classic Rockin' at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul along with their very good friends Tesla (who will also make their fourth appearance with the band in that same time frame and Poison.  Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 21st, 10am at
