(St. Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota Department of Health confirms the three newest cases of coronavirus are the result of community transmission. Health experts say that is a sign that the virus has started to circulate in Minnesota communities. In the past, all cases involved people who had contracted the virus while traveling out of state. As of noon on Monday, March 16th, Minnesota has 54 confirmed cases and has tested 1893 patients.
Cases are confirmed in Anoka, Benton, Blue Earth, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Olmsted, Ramsey, Renville, Stearns, Waseca, Washington and Wright counties.
