Alexandria, MN — Effective Monday, November 23, the Douglas County Library will provide library patrons with curbside only service. The incredible increase in COVID-19 cases requires the library to make this temporary adjustment to protect the health of its staff and those visiting the library.
“We know people of all ages are reading and watching movies more than ever during this pandemic,” said Library Director Dawn Dailey. “Our staff will do its best to fill requests quickly and have them available for pick up right outside the library’s front door, but you must call ahead to set up a pickup time. This is to ensure we have your items ready and you do not have to wait.”
Those looking for library materials need to go to the Douglas County website at https://douglascountylibrary.org/ . They need to log into their account using their library card number and select items for checkout. Those without internet access may call the library directly. When a person has received notice from the library that their items are ready, they must call the library at 320-762-3014 to arrange a day and time to pick up the items
“This system worked great this spring and we know it will work great again,” said Dailey. “We thank everyone in advance for their flexibility and willingness to work through this trying time together.”
Curbside service will be available from 11 to 4 Monday through Friday. The book drop will be available at all hours.
