(Alexandria, MN)  While the number of ICU hospitalizations has dropped to mid-April levels in the state of Minnesota (103), the number of active COVID-19 cases in Douglas County has seen a recent surge.

There are a number of factors that go into the reports, but Thursday's information from the Minnesota Department of Health shows there were eight new reports of cases in Douglas County.  That follows Wednesday's eight new cases in the county.  Horizon Public Health is tracking how many cases of COVID-19 are active in each of the five counties they serve.  On Tuesday that number was seven.  Today (Thursday) that number is 21. Grant County's number show that their active cases dropped from thirteen on Tuesday to eight as of July 16th.  Pope County's active cases number was two on Tuesday, but seven as of Thursday's report.
