A free, educational program surrounding the state of fishing both in our state and nationwide is set up for 7 PM Monday August 26 at the Legacy of the Lakes Museum Boathouse. Special guest speaker, R. Dean Beck, is an Area Fishing Supervisor with the MN DNR & the Glenwood Fisheries Management.

Dean is wrapping up a 30+ year tenure with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, leaving his title as Supervisor for Douglas, Grant, Pope and Stevens counties' Fisheries Management Area. During his time with the DNR, Dean & his staff of fisheries specialists, technicians and assistants have been charged with maintaining healthy fish communities and diverse, quality fishing opportunities within 82 lakes & 182 miles of streams.

Beck remains excited about the wealth of fisheries resources currently available in West-Central MN that he'll be leaving behind as he takes a new journey in life, and will be sharing memories from his time working with the DNR during this presentation event.

This program is a collaboration between the Legacy of the LAkes Museum & the Douglas County Lakes Association, whose missions support education about our lakes.
