Cardinal Cafe at Alexandria Area High School is a student-run restaurant that will be open to the public in the spring of 2018. This hands-on, project-based, unique learning experience is a great opportunity for the students to learn about the hospitality industry in a real restaurant environment where they make and serve meals.

Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County has begun accepting 2018 construction bid proposals. 3 single-family homes are set to be built by Habitat volunteers in Alexandria beginning in April. Habitat for Humanity professionals will perform several skilled tasks during the construction of a Habitat home, including: excavation, foundation work, mechanical systems, electrical, appliances, drywall finishing, lawn seeding, and various other tasks.
