(OCTOBER 7TH 2019) – ALP Utilities is celebrating Public Power Week, Oct. 6-12, along with more than 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 49 million Americans. “We are proud to be community powered,” said ALP Utilities General Manager Ted Cash. “Public power puts the people of the communities we serve first, and Public Power Week gives us the chance to emphasize the advantages of locally owned power to our citizens. Our service is safe, affordable and reliable, and we take pride in having served our community for 130 years.”, said Cash.
ALP invites their customers to join them for a family friendly Public Power Open House on Monday, October 7 from 4-7pm. Activities include:
• Demonstrations and Education (Little Lineman Rodeo, Water Pipe Tapping, GIS Mapping Software and more)
• Meal Included (Pulled pork sandwich, hot dog, chips and brownie)
• Power Plant Tours
• Visit with staff and learn about rebates available for energy efficient purchases
• Free LED light bulb (ALP electric customers)
•Today ALP has 36 employees and serves approximately 8,000 residential meters and 1,700 commercial meters.
