(Alexandria, MN) The Alexandria Police Department has released new information following Sunday's armed robbery at an Alexandria Subway Restaurant. The incident happened approximately 8:35pm while the store was open. The suspect was a white male approximately 5’10” to 6” tall with a medium to slender build wearing a dark colored jacket with grey hood. We believe this jacket to be a jacket/sweatshirt combination made by “Dickies”. He was also wearing a grey colored stocking cap that appeared to have the eye holes hand cut in it and black knit mittens with a light colored design on top with light colored blue jeans and dark colored shoes. He walked in the store and pointed a black colored hand gun at the female employee. The suspect also has a pronounced outstep on both legs and feet but the suspect’s right leg and foot are very pronounced pointing outward. If you recognize someone matching this description please contact the Alexandria Police Department at 320-763-6631.

Chased by the Light: A 90 Day Journey by Jim Brandendurg
Minnesota native and award winning National Geographic photographer, Jim Brandenburg's photography will be on display at the Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum during it's 2015 season, May 12- October. The "Chased by the Light" photographs were all taken in the deep woods surrounding Jim's home near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota."In autumn I set out to make one photograph-one single exposure-each day for 90 days. I hoped with patience and endurance to renew my vision of the natural world." This is how Brandenburg described his personal search for a new challenge and a hoped-for spiritual renewal after years of traveling the world as a photographer for National Geographic magazine.
